The Dorney Lake grounds lend themselves to being an ideal backdrop for several sporting activities other than rowing and canoeing.
Each year six triathlons (run, cycle, swim) and a 10-kilometre road race are held here. Hundreds of people take part in these events and they are very well supported by enthusiastic fans.
Dragon boating, which can also be used for team-building and for fun (see Hospitality), has become a serious sport, with its own national federation. Performed at high level it requires the concentration and co-ordination of all major sports.
