Rowing and Canoeing
2012 Olympic Venue for Rowing and Flat-water Canoeing
Youth Initiatives
Sir Steve Redgrave launched our Junior Rowing Initiative in 2002 and over 500 ‘juniors’ (ages 9 to 18) have taken up the challenge and fun of learning to row. 2005 has seen a Junior Canoeing Initative introduced.

Dorney Boat Club is the ‘umbrella’ for our junior rowers. Eton College and other schools, State and independent, primary and secondary, enjoy our facilities.

Special programmes are developed, including in conjunction with local authorities. Rowing and canoeing for over-weight and disaffected young people, for instance, enable some to experience a remarkable turn-round in overcoming their difficulties.

Please note junior beginners can only be accommodated at present on the first Wednesday or the first Sunday of each month - we have had a rush of enthusiastic would-be rowers!
